BMOB Tefilin and Mezuzah Checking

We are happy to offer the community the opportunity to check their Tefilin and Mezuzahs.

Checking is under the auspices of Rabbi Yitzchok Weinberger, Sofer Stam, certified by the Vaad Mishmeres Stam.
In addition to this community event, we are available to service your Mezuzah and Tefillin needs at Yeshiva Ohr Simcha of Englewood. (by appointment)
or anytime at your home.

Important note:
People tend to notice if there is external damage to their tefilin such as splitting of the Bayis or brown Retzuas.
This does not requite an internal check. Halacha gives no set time for an internal tefilin check. We suggest checking the tefilin internal about once every 15 years.

By contrast, Mezuzas have a mandated check of twice every 7 years as mentioned in Mes. Yuma י'א
and שלחן ערוך יו'ד רצ'א

Therefore, please bring your tefilin for an external check and mezuzas for a full check. At the external check you ask about internal checking.

MEZUZAH CHECKING: How many Mezuzahs need to be checked? *

I would like a House Call (For a charge we come to you and remove, bring them to the checking site, inspect and reafix the mezuzahs. This will usually be scheduled for a different date) *
